If the average speed of a water molecule at 25°c is 640 m/s, what is the average speed at 100°c?.

Answers

Answer 1

The average speed of a water molecules at 25°C is 640 m/s, the average speed at 100 °C is 715.8 m/s.

The average speed of molecules is defined as the average speed  of all individual the molecules. this mean it is equal to sum of speed of all the molecule divide by total no. of molecules.

Average speed ( V ) = [tex]\sqrt{8RT / \pi M}[/tex]

given :

Temperature of molecule T1 = 25°C = 298 K

Average velocity of water at 25°C ,V1 = 640 m/s

Temperature T2 = 100°c = 373 K

Average velocity of water at 100°C ,V2 = ?

now, computed the data, we get

V2 / V1 = [tex]\sqrt{T2 / T1}[/tex]

V2 / 640 m/s = [tex]\sqrt{373 K / 298 K}[/tex]

V2 =     715.8 m/s.

Thus,The average speed of a water molecules at 25°C is 640 m/s, the average speed at 100 °C is 715.8 m/s.

The speed limit on a many highways is 70 miles per hour. this speed to kilometers per day is 2703.69 km / day.

The speed limit on u.s highways is given as,

speed = 70 miles per hour or 70 mile / h

we have to convert it in kilometers per day,

so,

1 miles =  1.609344 kilometers

and, 1 day = 24 hours

therefore, in 1 hour = 1/ 24 day

applying above values, we get,

70 mile per hour = ( 70 × 1.609344 ) kilometers × 24 / day

70 miles per hour = 112.65408 kilometers × 24 / day

70 miles per hour = 2703.698 kilometers per day

A chemical species' concentration in a solution, specifically the amount of a solute per unit volume of solution, is measured by its molar concentration.

Molarity (M) is the amount of a substance that is present in a certain volume of solution.

Molarity is defined as the moles of a solute per liters of a solution which can further be formulated as:

M= Moles of the solute/ volume of solution.

Explanation:

From the given problem:

Concentration of H₂O₂ = 3.0%

Volume = 1.00 ml

Density of solution = 1.00 g/ml

Here it is given that, In 3.0% H₂O₂ , the solution contain 30g H₂O₂ per 1000g of solution.

To find the molecular weight of H₂O₂, we have to do this calculation to get the molecular weight of H₂O₂= 2(mass of hydrogen) + 2(mass of oxygen) = 2×1 + 2×16

Since the molecular weight of H₂O₂ =34 g/MOL.

then 30g would be (Mass/ MOL. wt)

Sodium phosphate reacts with sulfuric acid to form sodium sulfate and phosphoric acid. What is the stoichiometric coefficient for sulfuric acid when the chemical equation is balanced using the lowest whole-number stoichiometric coefficients?.

Answers

When sodium phosphate reacts with sulfuric acid, forming sodium sulfate and phosphoric acid, the stoichiometric coefficient for sulfuric acid in the balanced chemical equation is 3.

In every balanced chemical equation, the total number of individual atoms on the reactant side must be equal to the total number of individual atoms on the product side. The stoichiometric coefficient is the number written in front of each reactants and products that tells how many moles of each are needed in the reaction.

The chemical equation for the given reaction is:

[tex]Na_{3} PO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]H_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] = [tex]Na_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]H_{3} PO_{4}[/tex]

Put the necessary stoichiometric coefficient to balance each element.

Balancing Na:

[tex]2Na_{3} PO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]H_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] = [tex]3Na_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]H_{3} PO_{4}[/tex]

Balancing P:

[tex]2Na_{3} PO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]H_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] = [tex]3Na_{2} SO_{4}[/tex] + [tex]2H_{3} PO_{4}[/tex]

To determine the activation energy of a reaction (Ea) from two reaction rates (k₁ and k₂) at two different temperatures (T₁ and T₂).

we use the equation -

k₂ = Eₐ x ( 1   -  1  )

k₁     R       T₁    T₂

Where,

R is the gas constant (8.3145 J/mol.K).

We have -

k₁= 1.10 x 10⁻²  m⁻¹ s⁻¹

T₁= 703.7 K

k₂= 4.90 x 10⁻² m⁻¹ s⁻¹

T₂= 865 K

What intermolecular force or forces govern the solubility of 9-fluorenone in diethyl ether?.

Answers

Dipole-induced dipole attraction intermolecular force governs the solubility of 9-fluorenone in diethyl ether.

A dipole-induced dipole attraction is a type of weak attraction as it results when a polar molecule induces a dipole either in an atom or in a non-polar molecule by disturbing the electron arrangement in the particular non-polar species.

Most organic molecules are polar since they have a dipole moment. On behalf of solvents, polarity refers to solvents having higher polarity, and non-polar solvents with lower polarity. Diethyl ether is located at the lower end of the polarity scale and is generally considered a type of  'non-polar' solvent. Therefore, diethyl ether has a small dipole.

As Diethyl ether has a very low polarity value, if any, it is clear that H-bonding is not possible. London dispersion forces are present in all either polar or non-polar molecules, so it is clear that they are present here too. Since it is slightly polar so it may be exhibiting weak dipole-dipole interactions.

Carbon-donated hydrogen bonding is a real thing but they are generally very very weak non-covalent interactions. . London Dispersion Force is present in every chemical system but is weak as well . There are many exceptions where these forces may be significant in the case of binding energies of several dispersion-dominated molecules.

Therefore, the solubility of 9-fluorenone in diethyl ether is governed by dipole-induced dipole attraction or London dispersion forces.

In the conclusion to your essay, present your own views on the purpose of government based on the statement you evaluated and discussed.Here's a rough draft of the essay ;)What is the purpose of the government? The United States federal government has many purposes. Purposes include ruling in the best possible way, giving the citizens needed freedoms needed, creating economical and political scenarios to help them prosper, develop, and grow, protect their natural rights, and to ensure justice and equality for all, as well as security over our lives, properties, and economic welfare in the country. These purposes can all be supported by quotes from former United States leaders. One of the purposes of the government is to rule in the best possible way, based on dispositions stated in the Constitution giving the citizens of the United States the freedoms needed to protect them from outside invasions, and create proper political and economical scenarios for people to grow, develop, and prosper. This statement can be backed up by a quote by first and former president George Washington. George Washington said "The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government." I agree with this for numerous reasons. One reason is that the people have the most powers, that are even better and even bigger than the government, make their own people, and choose who they want. The vote is really important to make sure that the government and the country prosper. Another reason I agree with this is because George Washington lasted for national sovereignty, individual freedoms, and a very powerful central government that performed to defend the freedoms and independence of its citizens. He also considered a complete detachment of church and state. As such, he advocated for a large number of European Enlightenment models. These things are reasons why I support and agree with George Washington's quote. Another purpose of the government is to protect the citizens natural rights. One more purpose is to ensure justice and equality for all people, security over properties and lives, and economic welfare within the country. I agree with his views on the purpose of the government. This is because the wellbeing of a nation's citizens is the responsibility of that country's government. They are in charge of ensuring that the rights of the populace are protected. The current government is in charge of making sure that everyone in the country is taken care of, that everyone has equal access to rights and freedoms, and that the economy is stable. Those reasons are why I agree with Thomas Jefferson's quote on the purpose of the government. Taking everything into account, the government has multiple purposes. Among the objectives of the government are to rule as efficiently as possible, provide citizens with the freedoms they need, foster the political and economic environments that will enable them to grow, prosper, and develop, protect their unalienable rights, guarantee justice and equality for all, and advance the economic welfare of the country.
