Answer 1
On April 10, 1945 the Nazi’s intend to liquidate the twenty some thousand remaining captives. An allied air raid caused everyone to take cover. The next day local resistance units drove off the Nazis, followed shortly by US armored units.

Below is excerpt from a summary of Night.
Sorry, do not have access to the actual book.

with about 20,000 people remaining in the camp, the Nazis decide to evacuate—and kill—everyone left in the camp. As the evacuation begins, however, an air-raid siren sounds, sending everybody indoors. When it seems that all has returned to normal and that the evacuation will proceed as planned, the resistance movement strikes, driving the SS from the camp. Hours later, on April 11, the American army arrives at Buchenwald. Now free, the prisoners think only of feeding themselves. Eliezer is struck with food poisoning and spends weeks in the hospital, deathly ill. When he finally raises himself and looks in the mirror—he has not seen himself in a mirror since leaving Sighet—he is shocked: “From the depths of the mirror,” Wiesel writes, “a corpse gazed back at me.”

What is sensory adaptation?

The term “sensory adaptation” describes how our senses change in response to various inputs. Hearing, touch, smell, proprioception, and sight are just a few of the senses that can change in reaction to environmental changes.

These senses may be able to continue working under challenging or overstimulating circumstances thanks to adaptations. Your pupils enlarge to let in more light when you enter a dark room or go outside at night, which helps your eyes finally get used to the darkness.

PLEASE HELP!!! Letters of a Civil War Nurse: Analyze this document by providing its "HIPP”: Historical context, Intended audience, author’s Purpose, and author’s Point of view.

Answers

Answer: Starting with the historical context, these letters were written in 1863, from July 7th to August 17th, during the Civil War, where nurses had to care for injured soldiers. In the letters, there are examples of what Cornelia had to see or deal with.

These are written by a nurse, Cornelia Hancock, to different family members. Her mother, her niece, and her cousin are who I believe to be the intended audience. The purpose of these letters was to give information about what was currently happening for her, and what a day in her life looked like. For example, in one of the letters written to her mother, she talks about how some people were praying for food, and that though no one was to blame for this, it still occurred. She also describes how what she has to witness would be horrifying for her mom or a regular citizen coming to see their friend, but for her, it's not because she's so used to seeing it.

As a reader, I do believe that women's experiences during the war were challenging since they had to help nurse the soldiers back to health and provide for them. I also believe that based off of Cornelia's letters, the war left an effect on many lives, not only hers. She does mention friends coming to see someone, and them being all mangled up. She describes this as not only painful for them, but for her as well.

Answer:

The correct answer is C. classical conditioning.

Explanation:

This type of conditioning, also known as Pavlovian conditioning, means that two stimuli are connected in order to produce a new type of response. In this case, the daughter receives a sticker every time she successfully uses the toilet, and once she collects ten of them, she gets a reward (she can pick up a toy). British West Indies?
a.) Growing European demand for sugar cane led to an increase in the use of slaves as a labor force
b.) The French and Indian War's conclusion led to increased conflict between slaves and masters.
c.)The number of large slave plantations on Antigua quickly outnumbered the number of small slave holders.
d.) The British West Indies were originally colonized by individuals who brought large numbers of
slaves

Answers

Answer: a.) Growing European demand for sugar cane led to an increase in the use of slaves as a labor force

Explanation:

Sugar production was the main economic activity in Antigua for much of its existence including when the British first took control of it. There was a strong demand for sugar in Europe and to satisfy this demand, whilst keeping labor costs low, farmers began to use more and more slave labor to farm more land.

This is why in the chart above you will notice that the number of enslaved people as well as the amount of land (acreage) being used for farming saw a sustained increase from 1688 to 1767.

The relationship between distance in yards and the same distance in miles is described by the equation Y =1760m find the measurement in yards in miles

Answers

y ∝ m and 1760 is a constant of proportionality.
Step-by-step explanation:
The relation between a distance in the yards (y) and the same distance in miles (m) is described by the equation y = 1760m.
So, the graph of the above equation passes through the origin(0,0) and it will be a straight line with a constant slope of 1760.
Therefore, a measurement in yards and a measurement in miles are in the relation of proportionality for the same distance.
Hence, y ∝ m and 1760 is a constant of proportionality. (Answer)

Answer:

I had the same question, this is what I wrote

Explanation:

So y∝m and 1760 are a constant of proportionality cuz, the relationship or relation between a distance in yards and the same distance in miles is described by the equation y=1760m. and the table or graph line passes through the origin, so it's a straight line and the constant of the slope is 1760
